Melissa E. Hilliard, M.Ed.
Founder/Owner
Wilson® Dyslexia Practitioner, Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist
Melissa has taught in the Maryland Public School System for over 30 years. Her passion for teaching students with Dyslexia and other reading disabilities began when she was first trained in 1995 by MADAY (Maryland Associates for Dyslexic Adults and Youth) in the Orton Gillingham approach. After that course, it changed her life and hopefully the lives of her students. Shortly after the training from MADAY, she became a special education teacher. She has experience with educational evaluation/assessments, attending and chairing IEP meetings, writing an IEP, and teaching students. In 2019, she became a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner. Melissa has a grown son, and she lives in Woodstock, Maryland with her husband and a Malitpoo puppy, Teddy.
